Weekend Recap: The Marvel Experience

This past weekend I got to experience The Marvel Experience, which is running now until February 1st at Fair Park in Dallas. Consisting of 7 "Dome" areas providing a Hyper-Reality Tour of the Marvel Universe, you are recruited as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. to help Spiderman, Iron Man, Wolverine, Hulk, She-Hulk, Captain America, and Black Widow to stop an evil doer who has taken on their powers. As you entered, you are greeted with a wristband and the new recruits go through a series of training processes throughout the domes, but first watching intro videos from Nick Fury, Iron Man, etc.

Here is my verdict: So as a huge Marvel Fan Girl, I thought the experience was just OK. It wasn't bad, but it was great either. I guess I was expecting to really feel like an agent of Shield going through phases of training, meeting some Marvel "Characters" and actually feeling like you actually stepped into their world. It was a lot of just "paid" employees just repeating the same line over and over, the waiting around was too much and the training dome was ok. Note: head straight to the Black Widow's lazer area first if not, the line is forever long. It was ok technology from the start. I did like the museum like part as you can see in my gallery below. From seeing Iron Man's Mask, to my favorite Captain America's shield. My favorite part was the last two dome areas, where you step into a 3D world with glasses watching a short film from above and than the final stage sitting in theatre seats that moved and you felt that you was part of the show.

My Conclusion: I think overall its a good start for doing something different, especially for all the comic fans like myself and all the kiddos out there. I rather had the final experience the whole experience – watching a full animation movie with the museum like parts scattered while you walk through. I do believe they should of had the characters walking around taking pictures with the kids, or fan girls like me. See some more pictures below of my experience.

I had to represent my Captain America's shield.
