Marvel Universe of Super Heroes Experience in Chicago

The largest exhibition celebrating the Marvel Universe landed at the Museum of Science + Industry and it was MARVEL-OUS.

A few weeks ago we got to suit up and experience the Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes celebrated Marvel history with more than 300 artifacts including original comic book pages, sculptures, interactive displays, and costumes and props from Marvel’s big films. (Special thanks to my best friend for gifting us this since I’ve been wanting to go since this summer). We got to read up on the origins of iconic characters such as Spider-Man, Black Panther, Hulk, and Captain Marvel and see how they have evolved alongside society over the past 80 years, making these characters a pop culture mainstay.

Much of the exhibit takes design cues from the popular Marvel cinematic universe, including a mirrored room inspired by the trippy visuals of Doctor Strange and recreation of Tony Stark's lab as it appeared in the Iron Man films, stocked with multiple versions of armor!

It was by far one of the coolest exhibits we’ve ever been to. There was so much of the comic book history from co-creator Stan Lee, to the first comic from 1939 where it all started. In fact, there's so much to see here they had to put it in two galleries! Literally took us about two hours to go through both exhibits and was well worth it for us #geekgirls. Enjoy the pictures below! - xo Mel
