2018 Dallas Women's March

Here’s to Strong Women.

This past weekend, I had an opportunity to march alongside thousands of people that showed up for the Dallas Women's March, standing up for women's rights, equal pay, justice, and inclusion. When you read the quote, “Empowered Women, Empower Women” that’s the type of feeling you definitely feel at the march. There were so many creative signs held by men, women and children, marchers that hit the streets, standing up for women’s rights. It was also amazing to see how much Wonder Woman was represented at the march. She is definitely a symbol of strength for women and there were so many creative signs representing her. I had an opportunity to meet a couple of women that shared their journey on why they are marching and it was inspiring to hear that we come from all different backgrounds and struggles, yet we can come together for a common cause. The march ended with a rally at Pike Park with music and a lineup of speakers and left you inspired to make a difference. If we can’t support each other as women, then who will have our backs? #timesup

“The movements we’ve seen succeed the Women’s March this year, like Me Too and Time’s Up, are examples of thoughtful, intersectional organizing. And the Women’s March itself is indebted to those who came before, like Black Lives Matter, without none of this would have been possible. That’s what a real, vital, successful movement looks like.” – Sarah Sophie Flicker
