Top 10 Reasons Why Star Wars "The Force Awakens" is One of the Best Movies Ever
It was a big weekend for the most anticipated movie of the year, bringing in about $517 million worldwide. That is an insane amount of money, but well worth every penny. I know I get excited and geek-ish over comics, but this hands down has got to be one of the best movies ever that I have seen. Here are my top 10 reasons why this movie has me wanting to see it again with true spoilers.
1. OLD SCHOOL
I love how they brought back the old characters, Harrison Ford himself as Han Solo. Princess Leia and Chewie. They did it tasteful, even with the line, "Chewie, We're Home". He brought in some comic relief as well and I think it was good to see the old characters for both old audience as well as young kids and help tie in the whole story line.
2. KYLO REN
The Dark Side is something serious. Kylo Ren is not to messed with. Even stopping a laser in mid air while using the force. His voice threw me off in the beginning, kinda reminding me of the "Batman Voice". He does takes his mask off to relieve his true identity, but I will not spoil it for those who hasn't seen it yet.
3. ACTING IS BELIEVABLE
From Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, to Finn, played by John Boyega, these actor and actress played their part and pretty well. Without giving much away, I will say, they made Star Wars pretty believable.
4. GET READY TO FALL IN LOVE WITH BB-8
This Droid who you happen to follow throughout the whole movie, makes you fall in love with him. From the noises he makes, to his witty gestures, he makes you want to take him home with you. He plays a big part in this movie.
5. THE GRAPHICS!
This movie was shot for IMAX viewing, but even in regular screen, this film was beautifully shot. The world, to the ships, sabers, aliens, to even the details of Kylo mask hands down to all who help make this world happen.
6. THE FEMALES RULE
Want order in your life? Get a Princess Leia. It was great seeing her again, and this time running a whole army pretty much by herself. As well as Rey, for someone like my daughter, she kicked ass throughout the whole movie.
7. THE LEADING LADY
Rey, the human scavenger, gifted mechanic, amazing pilot and ultimate warrior, what there not to love about her character. She's got that ultimate power and will stop at nothing to understand where she came from, let alone who her parents are. A lot more of her true identity is reviled towards the end of the movie, leading up to the grand finale.
8. THE HUMOR IS GREAT
The writing to this movie was brilliant. We get a sense of comic relief here and there, brilliantly place to get a genuine laugh out of the audience. It was pretty funny during some moments.
9. STORM TROOPERS
Enough Said.
10. YOU CAN WATCH IT WITHOUT WATCHING THE OTHER ONES
The director, J.J. Adams did a great job piecing the past Star Wars to this new one that even if you never seen the others ones you can get a sense of what is happening without feeling completely lost. They hint throughout the movie clips of the old ones, and connect the past to the present.
