DIY Glam Pennywise
Oh! Happy Halloween! Well, I'm Pennywise, the dancing clown. "Pennywise?". "Yes?", "Meet Mariah". "Mariah, meet Pennywise". Now we aren't strangers. Are we?
I'm so glad I have a wonderful child who goes along with my crazy ideas. She got into the new Stephen King's It movie and even watched it twice (mother of the year award goes to ...), so I decided to create a DIY Glam version of Pennywise. And of course, I need my S.S. Mariah alongside with me.
This was such an easy DIY costume to put together. I found this cute ASOS gray puff long-sleeve dress and added some red pom-poms down the chest area. I created the fun neck collar using white tulle found at your local craft store and DIY a mini tutu for the neck piece. To create Pennywise's signature lines on his face, I used Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner in Outlaw. For the shoes, I found these fun and comfortable gray crush velvet sock boots from Forever 21 and hot glue pom-poms to each shoe. Finishing off the look, I came across Baublebar's Red Criselda Ball Shoulder Duster Earrings – these lightweight beehive balls wrapped in shimmering red nylon thread makes for the ultimate statement earrings. Mariah's "Georgie" costume was easy to find and make too. We found a yellow raincoat at Lowes to compliment her simple blue jeans, black shirt, and black boots. We learned how to fold a paper boat (Youtube to the rescue!) for her accessory piece.
I can't forget the ultimate signature piece – Pennywise's red balloon because you'll float too! Hope everyone has a safe Halloween and be sure to eat all the candy your heart desires. -xo Mel
