"We're in the endgame now." —Dr. Strange

The wait for Avengers: Infinity War is over ... I think everyone finally had an opportunity to see the movie. If you haven’t, no worries this is spoiler-free, so no need to swear me out your life. Avengers: Infinity War snagged a $258.2 million debut this past Fri-Sun, bigger than any movie in history. This is Marvel's 19th movie, their biggest so far, and is for sure worth the wait. Here is my little cheat sheet of recommendations to know before seeing this movie and might help explain it even better.

THE SETUP

Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll be aware this is the one that pits most of the primary Avengers against the world’s most impressive MCU villain Thanos (Josh Brolin).  You may not like Thanos, but you will love Josh Brolin’s Thanos, he played the character so well that you would almost feel bad for him. The likes of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and way many more, have never faced a threat this big, as Thanos' pursuit of the Infinity Stones plunges the entire universe into danger.

So, what are the 5 Marvel movies you really need to see prior to this one? Here’s my take, in order of importance:

  1. Thor Ragnarok

  2. Black Panther

  3. Guardians of the Galaxy

  4. Avengers: Age of Ultron

  5. Doctor Strange

Don’t get me wrong, seeing all the Marvel movies helps even more, but if you see these 5, then I think you’ll have a pretty good grasp of what’s going on.

OVERALL

The Russo Brothers did a magnificent job with this one they gave it a darker more sincere feel, it left us emotionally involved from beginning to end, even frustrated and exhausted at times (insert tears). There’s not much I can say without spoiling any surprises, but what I can say is that we see all our favorite characters reunited in one movie which is incredible. #WakandaForever! Avenger's: Infinity War takes you to new planets and locations we’ve only heard of but have never seen. It keeps the movie moving and the viewers interested. Within the first 5 minutes of the film, you understand that this is a different kind of movie. It’s fast-moving and it doesn’t feel like it’s 2 and a half hours long.

Avenger's: Infinity War is a must see. I’ve seen it once … or maybe twice (judge me not) and I can’t wait to see it all over again. I give it 5 out of 5 stars! Did you see it? Let me know your thoughts! -xo Mel
