KAWS

I been wanting to see KAWS in a museum ever since I started noticing Brian Donnelly's artwork years ago. I always been a fan of graffiti art (New Yorker here) infused with pop art, and KAWS does both in a subtle modern way. KAWS is a New York-based artist who has made a name out of him designing limited edition toys and clothing. He is also a world-renowned artist who exhibits in museums and galleries internationally. His art stands somewhere between fine art and global commerce. He has also been highly praised for his work on acrylic paintings and large sculptures. One of the more popular KAWS sculpture is his gray scale figure based on Mickey Mouse whose face is covered by his both hands. I am so happy to have seen his artwork finally up close and personal, and those statues are amazing. He is currently at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth now through January 22. This exhibit is definitely a must see in person!

OOTD

On cozy fall days I want to go for that easy comfort look, I opt for a simple sweater, some comfortable jeans, and stylish sneakers. I love the variety of sneaker options because some are chic enough to be styled for athleisure. These Dolce Vita Xandie Sneakers from DSW can be styled a variety of ways. I have a feeling they’ll be my shoe of choice this season because they’re comfortable, easy to slip on, and go with everything. Perfect for a museum visit. - xo Mel
